An even hotter range-topper version of the recently unveiled Mercedes AMG GT, the Black Series, is being planned for the near future.
Mercedes-Benz has dropped the SLS AMG in favor for the smaller, cheaper and less powerful AMG GT but this doesn’t mean that the newest sports car in the company’s lineup doesn’t have the right to become even hotter. According to the guys from EVO, the company is currently planning to introduce a Black Series version of the impressive vehicle but if this has opened your horizon, don’t be too glad because chances are it won’t come out before 2018.
The Black Series label has been currently assigned to the most extreme performance models and, in the company’s history, this has been found on the C-Class, on the CLK, on the SLK, on the SL and on the SLS. The enhancements include the modified body kit, the upgraded suspension system, the larger brakes and, of course, a more powerful engine under its hood which should be able to spin the planet faster. The most powerful version of the AMG GT, the “S”, is currently rated at 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is made in 3.8s and top speed stands at 310 km/h (193 mph).
