Mercedes has brought along to Paris the S250 CDI BE which gets equipped with the same 2.2 liter diesel engine that crops up all over the Mercedes range.
The Mercedes-Benz S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY will produce just 155 grams of CO2 per kilometer. This follows a trend being held by a number of automakers to make their largest sedans less polluting. The engine is a four-cylinder turbo that has a total power of 204 HP and 500 NM of torque and delivers a total of 5,7 liters engine per 100 kilometers. 6 l/100km, that’s amazing for S Class !
The car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 8,2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 150 mph.
It is the first S-class to be given a four-cylinder diesel in the model’s 60-year history.
This is made possible by the standard-fit ECO stop-start technology and high torque at low engine speeds achieved through two-stage turbocharging – from one high-pressure and one low-pressure turbocharger.
