A Mercedes SLR McLaren has been recently crashed in Brazil by the son of the 8th richest man in the world, Eike Bastita, who ran over a cyclist and killed him.

Where ever there will be exotic cars there will also be exotic car crashes, this is what we have always said here on inautonews.com and the latest example is coming all the way from Brazil, where a Mercedes SLR McLaren has been crashed by the son of Eike Batista, the 8th richest man in the world. According to the guys at wreckedexotics.com, the 24-year old son of Eike Batista has ran over a cyclist in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, killing him and also destroying his ride, a Mercedes SLR McLaren. The only question about this unfortunate incident is obvious, “will he go to jail, or his father’s money is too important?”

As a reminder, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren has been sold from 2003 to 2009, being developed by Mercedes-Benz and the McLaren Group. When it was made, Mercedes owned 40 percent of the McLaren Group. The SLR was being offered in two body styles, two-door coupe and two-door roadster, being powered by a 5.4 liter supercharged V8 engine, generating 617 HP and 780 Nm of torque (580 lb-ft), mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
