Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series coming soon image

Mercedes-Benz has finally decided to produce a Black Series version of the iconic SLS AMG and after this was just a rumor the supercar is close to hitting the production line, as an official of the German automaker has announced.

According to motortrend, the member of the board of directors and head of vehicle development for AMG, Tobias Moers, has announced that the powerful version of the SLS is a must-have: “We absolutely have to do a Black Series”, said the Mercedes-Benz official.

Tobias Moers didn’t say anything about the supercar’s performance but rumors are saying that a revised 6.3 liter (6.208 cc) V8 engine will be powering it with its approximately 600 horsepower and 677 Nm of torque (499 lb-ft).

Bad news for the over-seas SLS fans who won’t get their hands on one in the nearby future, Mercedes’ official announcing that the SLS AMG GT3 won’t be going to the United States and the 2013 SLS AMG E-Cell is in discussion of whether it will arrive there.
