We’re just a few weeks away from the start of the year’s edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, so all details will be revealed then or even sooner in an online preview.
What we do know is Mercedes-Benz is preparing yet another EQ electric concept – just like Volkswagen with its I.D. series of concepts, the three-pointed star brand is also taking its time before actually brining to life a series production model from within its new electric sub-range. Actually, we get a double teaser – because the display features two interesting cars, not one. On one side we have the future electric compact model and next to it resides a sporty model, possibly the yet unwrapped Project One Mercedes-AMG hypercar.
The new EQ concept is still reminiscent of the first one – which had the crossover body that everyone loves today – this one seems to depict a tall hatchback / small CUV featuring showcar cues, such as huge alloys. There are reasons to take this with a grain of salt though – the sporty model actually closely resembles the 2014 Vision GT, while the new EQ seems to be inspired by the G-Code showcased in China in 2015. This means the two might only be decoys to diverge our attention from the real deal.
