The first images with MG’s first ever crossover have leaked all over the web, ruining the carmaker’s surprise for the Chinese auto market, next autumn.
After officially pulling the wraps off the CS Concept, back in March this year, during the 2013 Auto Shanghai, MG’s crossover is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time in its final production form, with the help of some leaked design sketches. The model in question is believed to make its public debut in 2014, during the Beijing Motor Show, in April, and it seems toned down, compared to the concept version, which means that this is the production-ready from.
The MG crossover in question is believed to get a 2.0 liter gasoline four-cylinder engine under its hood, with 200 HP (149 kW), which will be sent to the all-wheel drive through either a standard manual or an optional automatic transmission. A smaller unit, a 1.5 liter four-cylinder, will also become available, with 135 HP (100 kW). This will be taken from the MG5. The crossover will also be getting a height-adjustable hydraulic suspension, a limited slip differential and some other tweaks. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will probably be announced next year, close to its unveil.
