So it’s official – Michael Bay is back for more Transformers fun, and the fourth movie in the series will be hitting theaters in 2014.
While producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura says it’s still too early to say if Transformers star Shia LaBeouf will return as the character Sam Witwicky, he confirmed that Bumblebee, the bright yellow Camaro-based Autobot, will be featured once again.
Additionally Josh Duhamel who has starred as Major Lennox in all previous films is yet to receive a call about a role, worldcarfans reports.
When it comes to “Transformers,” Bay brings a lot to the table: money, name recognition and explosions aplenty. That formula has worked well for the past three “Transformers” movies, but is Bay really the right man for what’s supposed to be a wholesale reboot?
The script is yet to be written, but Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are not expected to return.
It appears that Huntington-Whiteley, who replaced Megan Fox as the film’s leading actress in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, will not return again, with a source telling the Daily Mirror: “Rosie enjoyed being in the third film but action’s not really her bag. She doesn’t want to get typecast.”
The third film in the series, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, broke box office records set by the previous two and is part of a two-picture deal with Paramount.
