Former Formula One racing world champion Michael Schumacher has been hurt in an accident in the resort of Meribel, in the French Alps.
44-year old Michael Schumacher has suffered a serious head injury in an off-piste accident in the French Alps. According to the French media, the seven-time Formula One world champion has been hospitalized but his injuries are not life threatening.
“He was in shock, somewhat agitated, but conscious”, said the head of the Meribel ski resort, Christophe Gernigon-Lecomte.
Schumacher has been taken to the nearest hospital at Moutiers, by helicopter, and he was then moved to the Grenoble hospital. Some local newspapers are stating that the former racing driver has suffered “a severe brain trauma” but his injuries are “not life threatening”.
