Another rendering with the Chevrolet Corvette is showing us the high-performance American sports car in a mid-engine layout.
The Chevrolet Corvette only needs a mid-engined layout in order to go up against some European models such as the Lamborghini Huracan or the Ferrari 488 GTB and, even if this may never happen, considering the fact that it will cost millions just to put it into production, we have to tell you that spy photographers have recently captured such a model on camera, but since it was a simple prototype, chances of it hitting the assembly line are very small.
The Images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings which have been signed by Theophilus Chin. The model in question is said to be in the C8 generation guise and to get that mid-engined layout for the 2017 model year. Rumor has it that the 4.0 liter V8 engine will be mounted behind the cabin and this might be named the Zora, after Zora Arkus, the father of the Corvette, who wanted it to be mid-engined.
The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Zora is expected to be produced in just 1,500 units annually and this will make it quite exclusive. The sports car should have a starting price of about 150,000 USD and it should be made on the current aluminum platform of the C7, which is said to be capable of suiting the mid-engined layout. More details on such a model are limited at this time but you can still check it out in the renderings posted below.
