The US automaker has decided its Midnight Edition trim package for the 2017 model year should also become available for the full size Tahoe and Suburban sport utility vehicles.
The Midnight Edition package is already familiar to Chevrolet fans because the automaker is already displaying it on the Impala sedan, Colorado and Silverado pickups as well as Trax and Equinox crossovers. Now they are also available for the big Tahoe and Suburban, using either the LT trim level, or the Z71 package. In the case of the LT Midnight we have next to the standard equipment list – wifi hotspot, power liftgate, climate control, Bose stereo, leather upholstery, rear-view camera, and lane keep assist – added 20-inch black wheels with all-season tires, roof rack cross rails, black side steps, and black “bow tie” badges.
The Z71 Midnight will add 18-inch black wheels shod in Goodyear DuraTrac off-road tires, roof rack cross rails, and black grille insert and “bow tie” logos alongside the standard goodies: off-road suspension, side steps, fog lamps, tow hooks, sill plates, and hill descent control. “Our SUV customers have shown a considerable appetite for specialty vehicles. The Midnight Editions allow us to further deliver on the premium expectation that our customers already have for these class-leading full-size SUVs,” comments Mike Weidman, the marketing and advertising chief for the cars. The 2017 model year Tahoe and Suburban also add the company’s new Teen Driver monitoring system, front active aero shutters, and autonomous emergency braking.
