Former Formula 1 driver Mika Hakkinen has added a new exotic model to his car collection, a McLaren P1.
The McLaren P1 is extremely popular with Formula 1 drivers and Mika Hakkinen is making no exception from this rule. Former F1 driver and double world champion has been spotted in Monaco recently, with his newest hypercar. The 47-year old man is staying true to his love for McLaren as he has joined a select group which counts just 375 owners. The hypercar is bringing a dark grey livery for its exterior design, orange brake calipers, black finished wheels and it has been seen for the first time in Monaco.
As a small reminder, the McLaren P1 is making use of an upgraded 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is capable of putting down a total of 727 HP and 719 Nm of torque. The internal combustion unit is backed up by an electric motor, adding 176 HP and 260 Nm of torque to the final figure which stands at an impressive 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque. The P1 is a rear mid-engined and rear-wheel drive hybrid supercar which has been officially presented to the public back in 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show. This needs just 2.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) and it can go up to a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), which has been electronically limited. The P1 has been produced in just 375 units.
