MINI has officially announced that the Clubvan concept will hit the production line in mid-2012.
After being officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show last month, the MINI Clubvan concept is once again placed into the spotlights, this time with the British based automaker announcing a production version of the model. According to the car manufacturer, the MINI Clubvan will hit the production line this summer and the model is expected to be quite similar to the concept car. The MINI Clubvan in its final production form will be basically a modified version of the Clubman station wagon with a vestigial rear-hinged door on the passenger side.
The future MINI Clubvan will come with two seats and a separate load area from the passenger compartment, along with opaque rear side windows. Even if there is no official word on the engine lineup for the production model just yet, rumors are saying that these will be shared with the Clubman. The MINI Clubvan will be aimed at business with small high-value items to carry and boutique shops and will hit the market as a premium commercial vehicle, but don’t expect to carry too much with it. More details on the model will be announced close to its launch.
