MINI has recently announced the production start of the Countryman in India, at the company’s facility at Chennai.
Good news for those of you living in India who want to purchase a brand new MINI Countryman because now you have the chance of owning a locally based one. According to the BMW Group, the MINI Countryman vehicles produced in India will have the same quality standards as other vehicles made by the company in other parts of the world, but this is still the first time that MINI is producing cars outside Europe.
India is getting a choice of two diesel engines in the MINI Countryman, the Cooped D Countryman and the Cooper D Countryman High, but the MINI One Countryman petrol version will also be offered. This has been priced at Rs. 23.5 lakhs, while the cheapest diesel costs Rs. 25.6 lakhs and the Countryman High will set you back for Rs. 28.9 lakhs.
MINI’s expansion to the Indian sub-continent should solve the problem of the increasing demand for the Countryman, but producing the model in the Asian country might have an impact on the brand’s customers. The MINI Countryman is being assembled in Chennai.
