A new version of the popular Mini will make its way into the auto market under the Highgate Convertible name, and it’s expected to make its official debut sometimes this year, probably at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, only to be sold in the next few months as a 2012 model year.
Rumors say that the Highgate Convertible will feature an Ice Chocolate Metallic color, which is half way between Astro Black and Hot Chocolate, while the interior will be coated in Chocolate colored leather with white stitching. Special features of the new Mini model will be the automatic climate control, the on-board computer, Bluetooth with USB audio, sports leather steering wheel and fog lamps.
We don’t exactly know for now what will power the new Highgate Convertible but it will probably be the 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the 2011 Mini Cooper S, which is delivering 181 horsepower.
As we said in the first paragraph, the new Mini Highgate Convertible is expected to make its official debut sometimes this year, probably at the next month Frankfurt Motor Show, and will hit the European dealerships by the end of the year as a 2012 model year.
