MINI has recently announced that the Rocketman Concept won’t hit the production line anytime soon.
After the BMW sub-brand said in late 2011 that the Rocketman has a huge chance of hitting the production line this year, the company’s officials have changed their mind and sources from MINI are saying that the automaker won’t develop a new model smaller than the current Cooper. So basically those of you who wanted to get your hands on the small Rocketman will have to wait, because the same sources are saying that the production version might hit the market as early as 2016.
The MINI Rocketman Concept has a unique 3 + 1 seater which features three doors, with the vehicle being designed for urban lifestyle in big cities. The MINI Rocketman Concept is 3.419 meters long (11 ft. 3 in.), 1.907 meters wide (6 ft. 3 in.) and 1.398 meters tall (4 ft. 7 in.). The model has a carbon fiber spaceframe construction, whose surface is visible on the front end of the car, in the interior and around its doors, forming a basis for the weigh-minimizing construction. The MINI Rocketman Concept car has been officially presented to the public back in 2011, at the Geneva Motor Show.
