Mitsubishi has announced its plans to introduce the new eK Space and the eK Space Custom next month, during the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the eK Space is the company’s second kei car to be developed with Nissan. The model in question is based on the eK Wagon and it’s coming with a box-like appearance which actually favors function over form, a thing appreciated locally when it comes to cars. The vehicle has been fitted with an electric sliding rear door and with tinted rear windows, along with several other features.
The Mitsubishi eK has a four-seat cabin with a touch panel climate control system, a rear air circulator, metallic accents, an infotainment system with a touch screen, GPS navigation and much more. Mitsubishi didn’t announce any details on the engine found under the hood of these two new models, but rumors are saying that they might use the same units as the eK Wagon and eK Custom, with three cylinders and an output of 49 HP (36 kW) and 64 HP (47 kW) respectively. The eK Space and eK Space Custom will become available for order in Japan next year.
