Mitsubishi is now releasing the first details and images with one weird-looking concept car, the EMIRAI 3 xDAS, which will debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
The 2015th edition of the Tokyo Motor Show is proving to become an event worth taking a look at, as most major carmakers from around the globe have announced their presence with various concept cars. Mitsubishi is making no exception from this rule either and it will be pulling the wraps off the new EMIRAI 3 xDAS. This is an evolution of the EMIRAI 2 xDAS shown a couple of years ago and it is bringing a weird and futuristic exterior design, along with a minimalistic cabin.
“Building on the EMIRAI 2 xDAS, which was introduced at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Mitsubishi Electric has developed the EMIRAI 3 xDAS, with evolved technologies for human machine interface (HMI), driver sensing, telematics, and light control, under the theme of ‘Feelings come true’”, says the automaker in its press release.
The new Mitsubishi EMIRAI 3 xDAS Concept has received the LCDs in the dashboard and in the center console, which enhance visibility by being laminated and bonded. The driver is actually able to control the vehicle’s functions without having to use the touch screen displays, thanks to the cameras which are monitoring the driver’s hands and enable the gesture control. The physical condition of the person holding the wheel, or the fatigue, will be analyzed through a cloud-based application and it will recommend the vehicle coming to a stop. The head-up display is also impressive as it is capable of showing 3D images of hazards in front.
