The newest model signed by Mitsubishi is called the eX Concept and it has been officially unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
After being previewed by a sketch a few weeks back, the brand new Mitsubishi eX Concept is being highlighted once again, this time with its public debut taking place at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Rumor has it that this is previewing the next generation of the ASX compact crossover which will get an all-electric version as well.
The new model will be positioned below the current Outlander and its name is standing for “electric X (cross)-over”, according to the car manufacturer. Its exterior design if previewing the company’s future design language and it will be eventually adopted by all models in the Japanese based company’s lineup. The vehicle is described as being a mixture of a compact SUV and a shooting brake and its front-end design is bringing a new interpretation called the Dynamic Shield.
The new Mitsubishi eX Concept has slender headlights with the LED technology, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, a clean look for the tailgate, a rear diffuser with a weird shape, a sloping roof line, shaved door handles, privacy glass, small side mirrors, large wheels and a five-door body style. Its interior design is said to get the floating tablet-like center display, along with a full length central armrest, a digital instrument cluster and the ability to transport up to four people. A next-gen EV system with permanent AWD is found under its hood, but no more details are being known so far.
