Mitsubishi has officially announced its plans to introduce the eX electric concept during the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, later on this month.
The new Mitsubishi eX is adopting the looks of a compact crossover, bringing the front fascia similar to other models in the company’s lineup, along with the slender headlights with the LED technology, the LED fog lamps, LED DRLs, the small taillights with the same technology, a clean look for the tailgate, a weirdly shaped rear diffuser and several other goodies.
The vehicle is also bringing the sloping roofline and the five-door body style, along with the shaved door handles, the privacy glass all round, the small side mirrors and the large wheels. Chances are we may be looking towards the successor of the ASX, but in a futuristic form, and this might even give birth to a whole new model, a compact sporty crossover, with a sloping roof line.
The Mitsubishi eX Concept seems to have a suicide door arrangement, the see-through C pillars, two-tone yellow and black exterior finish, a minimalistic cabin with a “floating” tablet-like center display, a digital instrument cluster, a full length central armrest and the ability to transport up to four people. Under its hood we can find a next-gen EV system, with permanent all-wheel drive. The autonomous driving technology has been also adopted, but more details on this will be announced at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, on October 29.
