Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6L to be launched in China

The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently announced that the Lancer 1.6L will be launched in China, in an effort to boost the company’s car sales in the country.

According to the guys at chinacartimes.com, Mitsubishi will soon launch the Lancer 1.6L in China, after the first engine offerings, the 1.8 liter and the 2.0 liter, along with their CVT or manual transmissions, weren’t that successful. The introduction of the new Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 liter version in China is part of the Japanese based car manufacturer to boost the vehicle sales in the country, by making the model more affordable to a wider audience and therefore cheaper, at around 100,000 rmb.

Small engines on modern vehicles usually mean more power and lower fuel consumption, because CO2 emissions aren’t that important in Asia yet, compared to Europe restrictions, so a smaller engine offered as an entry-level version to the Mitsubishi Lancer will help the company sell more cars, mainly due to a lower production cost which is reflected in the final price of the vehicle. There is no official word on the new Mitsubishi Lancer version, with the 1.6 liter engine under its hood, will be launched in China, but we will keep you updated.
