Mitsubishi has recently announced its plans to change the name of the Mirage on the Old Continent, where the model will be named the Space Star.
The announcement has been recently made by Mitsubishi Motors and it may have something to do with the Pope resigning. The “new” Mitsubishi Space Star will weigh just 845 kg and it will be 371 cm long. The model will get the RISE system (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution), six airbags, front side and curtain, active Stability Control, ABS, Brake Assist, Hill Climb Assist for the CVT version and some other features, which have the obvious purpose to gain a 5-star safety rating with Euro NCAP.
The Mitsubishi Space Star has entered production back in March 2012 in Chonburi, Thailand, and it’s the third model produced in the Asian country. The Space Star is coming with a choice of two engines, a 1.0 liter generating 71 HP and 88 Nm of torque, burning 4.0 L / 100 km and emitting 92 g/km of CO2, and a 1.2 liter producing 80 HP and 106 Nm of torque, which is burning 4.1 L of fuel every 100 km and it’s emitting 96 g/km of CO2. The new Mitsubishi Space Star will replace the old Colt models.
