The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently announced its plans to launch the Mirage in Australia where the model will arrive this year.
According to the car manufacturer, the cheapest version of the Mitsubishi Mirage, the ES, will arrive on the Australian market in January 2013 and it will be named the ES. The Mirage ES will be launched from 12,990 AUD and it will undercut the Nissan Micra (13,490 AUD) but it will still be more expensive than the Chery J1 (10,990 AUD) or the Suzuki Alto (11,790 AUD). The mid-range Mitsubishi Mirage Sport will become available from 14,190 AUD, but get ready to pay 15,490 AUD if you’re into the top of the line, the LS.
Mitsubishi says that all versions of the Mirage are powered by the same 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which is producing a total output of 57 kW at 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 100 Nm available at 4,000 rpm. The ES and the Sport are burning 4.6 liters of fuel with the five-speed manual or the CVT while the ES is burning 4.8L and 4.9L / 100km. The Mitsubishi Mirage is 3,710 mm long, 1,665 mm wide and 1,500 mm tall.
