The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi is planning to introduce the Mirage in the United States where the model will eventually be transformed into an EV.
After it was announced for several markets over the past months, the Mitsubishi Mirage is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the automaker announcing its U.S. debut. According to the car manufacturer, the Mitsubishi Mirage will follow the new Outlander generation over-seas, where the model will arrive in July, and rumors are saying that the company is also planning to develop an electric version of the vehicle, which will also be launched in the United States.
No additional details are being known on the Mitsubishi Mirage for the United States but in most markets, the model is available in three versions and it’s powered by a 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 68 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 86 Nm (63 lb-ft), mated to a CVT which is enabling the model to burn an average of 3.6 liters of fuel every 100 km (27.2 km/L / 63.9 mpg US / 76.8 mpg UK), when equipped with the optional start/stop system. In Japan, the Mitsubishi Mirage can be bought from 998,000 yen.
