Mitsubishi Motors Company has recently announced that the Mirage model will be exported to Japan.
After being officially presented to the public at the Bangkok Motor Show this spring and making its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in December, the Mitsubishi Mirage is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with the company announcing its export to Japan. The Mitsubishi Mirage is currently being assembled and sold in Thailand, but the model is getting ready to become a global compact car and the first market where it will arrive is Japan.
The Mitsubishi Mirage is powered by a 1.2 liter MIVEC engine, which is developing a total output of 78 PS at 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 100 Nm available at 4,000 rpm. The small unit is allowing a low fuel consumption of just 22 km/liter and the model can achieve a top speed of 120 km/h. The Japanese based automaker was planning to sell 2,500 unit of the Mirage in Thailand, where the model is battling with the Perodua Viva, but the orders for Mitsubishi’s compact car have exceeded all expectations. More details about the Japanese version of the Mitsubishi Mirage will be announced later on.
