The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi will launch the new Mirage model in Malaysia in December, this year.
After the Mitsubishi Mirage has entered production in Thailand and it was launched in the Asian country too in March, 2012, the Japanese hatchback is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with the company announcing its Malaysian debut, which will be this December.
“The Mirage will still be a hatchback car weighing only at 860 kg… it is 100 kg lighter compared to other similar type of vehicles in the market today. It is the best version of the Mirage yet”, said Tetsuya Oda, the Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd chief executive officer.
The Mitsubishi Mirage has been officially presented to the public at the Bangkok Motor Show after making its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in December 2011 and the model is a best seller in Thailand, with more than 15,000 orders taken in less than a month. The Mitsubishi Mirage is being powered by a 1.2 liter MIVEC engine, which is producing a total output of 78 PS at 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 100 Nm available at 4,000 rpm. The model is returning 22km/l and it can achieve a top speed of 120 km/h.
