The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently joined the Takata airbag recalls which are already affecting several major car manufacturers across the globe.
Things aren’t going to well for Mitsubishi these days and because there is always room for something worse, the laws of the Universe have kicked in pretty hard. Mitsubishi has recently joined the list of affected vehicles because of the Takata airbags, a list which is already including some major automakers across the globe, including one based on the same country, Subaru, or one found in Germany, BMW.
Mitsubishi is actually the ninth automaker to recall its cars because of the Takata airbags in the United States. The issue is coming from an inflator, which can rupture and cause metal fragments to shoot at the passengers in the case of an impact. More than 12 million vehicles, with the Takata airbags, have been recalled over the last 5 years. It seems that Mitsubishi is not aware of any known injuries related to this problem but even so, the vehicles will have to be taken back to the dealers. The repairs will be made free of charge. For any extra details on the subject, owners should contact their local Mitsubishi dealership.
