Mitsubishi has some big plans for its future models as the plug-in hybrid lineup of the car manufacturer will be expanded.
The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has seen some tough years but it seems that it is ready to get back in the saddle. According to a recent report, the company will be introducing plug-in hybrid versions of some future models. These will be the new generations, or the official replacements, of the ASX and the Pajero. The announcement has been made by the company’s CEO, Osamu Masuko, who is looking at plug-in hybrid vehicles with enthusiasm.
The replacement of the Mitsubishi ASX is expected to be introduced sometimes in 2016 but it plug-in hybrid version will come one year later. The new generation of the popular Pajero will be introduced in 2018, along with its plug-in hybrid variant. Earlier this year, the car company has announced that the famous Lancer Evolution will eventually get a successor too, but this will be transformed into a crossover. The model in question will also come with a plug-in hybrid variant. The successor of the Lancer Evo is expected to be introduced sometimes next year. More details on Mitsubishi’s future models are limited for the moment.
