Mitsubishi unveils three concepts for Tokyo image

Mitsubishi has recently pulled the wraps off three brand new concept cars which will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

According to the car manufacturer, the Concept AR is taking its name from the Active Runabout and this is a next generation of a compact MPV which is offering the spacious MPV cabin and the maneuverability of an SUV. The model in question is using the XR-PHEV powertrain and it has a cocoon cabin layout, which will provide superior comfort to people inside.

The second model to be unveiled is the XR-PHEV (Cross Runner), which is offering a preview for a future compact SUV. This is powered by a 1.1 liter turbocharged engine which is being backed up by an electric motor. Last but not least, Mitsubishi will unveil the GC-PHEV (Grand Cruiser) which is representing the company’s vision of a next generation full-size SUV, which has a four-wheel drive system. This is taking its power from a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine, which is backed up by an electric motor, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. All three vehicles get the e-Assist active safety technologies and the next generation infotainment systems.
