Toyota is doing its job and is keen on introducing as fast as it can the facelifted 2014 Land Cruiser and Prado, with the global rollout now hitting the home market of Japan. The company also prepared a surprise for the local customers, with the introduction of the Modellista Edition.
The new Japanese market edition, Modelllista, has been created by the in-house tuning firm and includes everything, from wheels to a drink cooler – besides the standard amenities that came with the facelift – the cosmetic tweaks and equipment refinements that are common for all Land Cruisers.
For the exterior, the model can be equipped with an aerodynamic body kit that includes front and rear bumper extensions. Customers can also order a sports exhaust system, power retractable side steps and 17- or 20-inch alloy wheels with a shadow silver or deep gunmetal finish. As an option, the rocker panels can incorporate a retractable step that automatically opens with the front or rear doors to assist passengers in climbing into the cabin. The changes to the interior are limited, with the company offering LED lights or a drink cooler.
The accessories will go on sale shortly and prices range from ¥19,950 for the drink cooler to ¥378,000 for the 20-inch alloy wheels with Yokohama tires.
