The 2013 North American International Auto Show to take place in January, is expected to be one of the largest over the past years, with more than 50 unveilings.
“Automakers from around the world continue to place NAIAS at the top of their global auto show strategies, and have committed to more than 50 vehicle debuts with the majority being worldwide unveilings,” said Jim Seavitt, 2013 NAIAS chairman.
The 2012 Detroit auto show presented 42 vehicles introductions, from which 38 worldwide debuts, and the majority of the vehicles presented at the 2013 show will also be world debuts. Officials expect more than 6,000 journalists to be present at the show.
On January 15th will be announced the 2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards and Ford is the only one to have finalists for each of these awards. The 2012 NAIAS gathered more than 770,000 people during public days and 40,000 at the events before the public show dates. The 2013 NAIAS is expected to top these numbers, since media registrations were up with 15%-30% and charity preview sales also raised double digits.
The public will be able to view the 2013 NAIAS from January 19th until 27th, while Industry days are January 16th and 17th.
