The aftermarket specialists over at MR Car Design have decided the former generation M3 is still a relevant ride – and we tend to agree – so they decided to enhance it via the aftermarket tailored “Clubsport” package.
The project was actually the idea of a regular owner of the fourth-gen M3, which confided in German tuner MR Car Design his desire to have an even more hardcore ride. The high-performance sedan was then taken by the specialists, which endorsed it with the “Clubsport” package. This one is comprised of the engine tuning that will deliver 450 horsepower and 318-pound feet (430 Newton meters) of torque from the naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V8 (it had 420 hp and 295 lb-ft in stock form), which in turn enables the M3 sedan to reach a maximum speed of more than 186 miles per hour (300 km/h).
MR Car Design also decided an Akrapovic exhaust system is in order, alongside new 19-inch alloy wheels clad in 245/35/19 front & 265/35/19 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, which in turn were matched with 10-mm front and 15-mm rear spacers. Since power is nothing without control, the tuner also opted for KW’s Clubsport variant 2 coilovers to handle cornering, a rear strut brace for enhanced stability and a Stoptech kit with yellow six-piston calipers and 380-mm discs to handle braking duties. Also in the name of safety the cabin was treated to a Wiechers rollover bar as well as black Schroth seat belts.
