Another example of the McLaren P1 signed by MSO, finished in an appealing shade of purple this time, has been spotted recently, in Scotland.
The exclusivity and impressive performance of the McLaren P1 is making it perhaps even more popular than the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder so it’s almost every presence is well “documented” even now, two years since it has been officially presented to the public. This particular example, wearing an appealing purple shade on its body, has arrived to Scotland recently and it is actually the third unit of the hypercar to be delivered to this country. In order to complete its unique looks, the carbon fiber components have been added, along with the black wheels and the lead designer’s signature (Frank Stephenson) on the engine cover.
In case you are wondering what is founder under its hood, the answer is simple, because McLaren Special Operations (MSO) hasn’t worked its magic here too, so the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine is still producing 727 HP and 719 Nm of torque, while the in-house developed electric motor is generating 176 HP and 260 Nm of torque. The total output sent to the rear wheels through the 7-speed dual clutch transmission stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque and this is enough to allow the hypercar to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and to go to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 16.5 seconds. Top speed stands at 350 km/h (217 mph).
