Taking inspiration from Group B rallying, German tuning company MTM has pulled the wraps off the new Audi A1 Nardo Edition.
This is basically the ultimate pocket rocket and it is coming in the shape of an Audi A1, called the Nardo Edition and signed by MTM. The tuning company is seriously considering adding a production version but only if it can find at least 10 customers. Before rushing over and placing a deposit, you should know that the model in question will be priced at around 120,000 euros. This will be street legal, despite its Group B rallying inspiration, and chances are that its production variant will receive an even bigger engine under its hood.
Speaking about the engine, this particular vehicle is coming with the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder. This has been significantly upgraded and it can deliver 427 HP (314 kW), but in the final specification, the tuning company says that it will be able to produce up to 450 HP (331 kW). This means that it will basically be almost twice as powerful as the regular S1. We have no clue on what the torque figure will be or how much time this will need to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill, but in Southern Italy, on the Nardo test facility, it managed to reach a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph). More details on it are limited at this time.
