Mulsanne-Based Convertible prepares to enter in production? image

According to an Insideline article posted today, Bentley will introduce a new Azure convertible that will be based on the rather odd-looking Mulsanne.

Bentley has made a huge chunk of investment in its Crewe plant to build the Mulsanne, and it only makes sense that the automaker is planning more than one variation to spread the cost of development.

Despite middling sales for the current Azure, which was never intended to be a volume model like the Continental GT, Bentley has been careful to ensure that there is enough production capacity for a flagship convertible at its Crewe, England, assembly plant.

The first ever Bentley Azure was launched back in 1995 and the four seater convertible was based on the Continental.
