The U.S. Air Force will be primary sponsor for Aric Almirola’s No. 43 Ford Fusion for two Sprint Cup Series races, while being an associate sponsor for the car for the entire season.
The star-studded U.S. Air Force paint scheme will be on Richard Petty Motorsports’ car for the Memorial Day weekend race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Fourth of July weekend race at Daytona International Speedway.
2013 will be the 13th season the Air Force has been associated with NASCAR, and the fifth year as a partner with Richard Petty Motorsports. The Air Force will continue holding swear-in ceremonies of Airmen in the Delayed Entry Program at NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. Almirola, who was born on Elgin (Florida) Air Force base and whose father served in the Air Force, will take part in the at-track swear-in ceremonies.
“I’m really proud of how Richard Petty Motorsports helps connect the Air Force with race fans. We go out to the Air Force display and the swear-ins at the track, and it’s great to see people lined up wanting to learn about the technology and the opportunities available. It’s a perfect partnership, especially for me, having a lifelong history with the Air Force,” Almirola said.
