Need For Speed game franchise to bring a new title next year image

We’ve pretty much grown up with the titles of the Need For Speed gaming franchise, as almost every year since 2002 we had a new installment to test our powers with.

According to developer Ghost Games the latest tradition of bringing a new title to the market each year is about to change as the new installment is not expected until next year. This is really not the news NFS fans were waiting for, but fortunately the developer will allow them to express their – hopefully civilized – thoughts on the game’s development process via Twitter, Facebook, and in the special forums. “Your passion and dedication for Need for Speed continues to motivate, inspire, and drive us forward,” Ghost Games comments. “It’s absolutely amazing. From all of us at Ghost, thank you.”

The company was rather mysterious about the new game’s focus and decided to take us on a reminder story about the various statistics associated with the franchise since its inception. According to GG, players have so far amassed over 9.8 billion REP points, taken over 35 million Snapshots, raced in over 10 million Drag Races, and finished a total of 52 million Eddie’s Challenge Events. If you don’t know what we’re talking about you should crawl from under the desk, sell your PC for scrap and get a new gaming rig to make up for the lost time. By the way, Ghost Games is also expected to share more info on the game’s actual development in the next weeks and we, as fans, will be on point to deliver the fresh news.
