The 1967 Corvette owned by Neil Armstrong is still for sale on eBay, almost four months after the model is looking for a new owner.
Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the Moon, has sadly passed away at the age of 82, on the 25th of August, 2012, but even this sad news didn’t make someone bid high enough for his 1967 Corvette Coupe, equipped with an impressive V8 engine and a four-speed transmission.
Astronauts were given special lease arrangements which allowed them to trade up for a brand new Corvette model every year and, back in 1967, Neil Armstrong had taken delivery of this blue Corvette Coupe. The sports car in question is powered by a 427 cubic-inch V8 engine, which is developing a total output of 390 horsepower. The unit is mated to a four-speed transmission.
The 1967 Corvette Coupe has been driven by Neil Armstrong for one year, when he upgraded it to a 1968 model. The vehicle in question has been sold to a local NASA employee, who held on to it for 44 years, before selling it to the current owner. The model is currently on sale on eBay and the bid is over at $120,000.
