The French based automaker Renault has just announced the official starting price for the Twizy in the Netherlands, where the small vehicle can be bought for 6, 995 euros.
After being launched in France last month, where it costs 6,990 euros, and after being presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Renault Twizy is once again placed into the spotlights, this time with the car manufacturer announcing its official starting price for the Netherlands. Renault says that for 6,995 euros, people in the Netherlands can buy the entry level version, the Twizy 45 (45 km/h top speed) which is coming with 5 horsepower and 33 Nm of torque, being also available for 16-yeard olds to drive, but only if they get the road safety certification first.
The other Renault Twizy available in the Netherlands and in France too is providing 17 horsepower and the model can accelerate up to 80 km/h. For this version, its future owners will need an A or B driver’s license. The Renault Twizy is currently being assembled in Valladolid, Spain, and it’s coming with a 7 kW lithium-ion battery and a single gear transmission. The model is 2.32 meters long, 1.19 meters wide and 1.46 meters tall, with a curb weight of just 450 kg.
