One of the hot hatches which can be bought just became hotter, by the announcing of the new generation’s 136 HP.
By bringing the Swift S-Concept to the Geneva Motor Show this spring, Suzuki demonstrated its intention to build a more powerful version of the popular Swift model.
As a rumor said that the next Swift generation will get an increase in power of around 22 percent, meaning about 152 HP, the 2012 model will only have 136 HP, available from the four-cylinder 1.6 litre engine which will be connected to a manual six-speed transmission, with an automatic version also available.
With large rear wings, redesigned head and tail lights, air intakes, sport seats and carbon fiber trim, the Swift-S, as it will probably be known, will be battling the Fiesta ST and the Polo GTI.
“In Europe the Volkswagen Polo GTI and the Ford Fiesta ST will be the rivals for SWift Sport, which at present is undergoing testing at the Nurburgring”, said Peter Bondarchuk, spokesman of Suzuki Europe.
According to the car manufacturer’s officials, the new Suzuki Sport will be presented sometimes next year.
