New 5.5 liter V8 AMG Engine to power SLK55 and C55 models
According to some rumors, the latest generation naturally aspirated 5.5 liter V8 engine won’t be found under the hood of every single AMG badged car.
However, the German automaker is looking to use this power plant on the refreshed next SLK55 and C55.
The AMG 5.5 liter unit is capable to deliver 422 hp– 62 hp more than the 5.4-liter V8 used by the outgoing SLK55 AMG. New technologies like a cylinder cut-off mechanism will help improve fuel consumption while sending a larger amout of power to the car’s rear wheels.
