The high-performance saloon has been priced in the UK and it will come this autumn only with a rear-wheel drive setup.
Showcased at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, the new Alpina B7 borrows the underpins of the M760Li, which means it comes with the biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine capable of delivering 600 horsepower between 5,750-6,250 rpm and 590 pound-feet of torque available from 3,000 rpm. The mighty saloon will come to the first British customers this fall, but it will first make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next weekend. Even if the 2016 Alpina B7 was presented to the world with an all-wheel drive system, the high-performance enthusiasts here will exclusively enjoy a playful rear-wheel drive setup, mated to a modified eight-speed automatic transmission with Aplina’s Switch-Tronic shift buttons. This package ensures a 0-62 mph sprint in around 4.0 sec, with a top speed of nearly 200 mph.
The on-road comfort experience is guaranteed by the 2-axle air suspension system combined with Dynamic Damper Control and Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview – which uses GPS to adjust the suspension for upcoming corners, while the Active Roll Stabilization minimizes body roll. Furthermore, when needed, the ride height can be manually adjusted and raised by 2cm when driving at speeds up to 20 mph. The new B7 has a starting price of 115,000 British pounds (162,390 dollars).
