The brand new Audi A3 Cabrio has been recently spied on public roads, where it was being tested.
With the Audi A3 Sedan and S3 Sedan already unveiled a few months ago, the company’s fans kept asking when the convertible versions of the two models will hit the market. The truth is no one outside the company knows the answer just yet but one thing is for sure, the model will definitely get the green lights for production once the testing sessions will be completed. And speaking of testing it, the images posted below are showing a prototype version of the Audi A3 Cabrio, which has been taken on some public roads after being wrapped in camouflage.
The brand new Audi A3 Cabrio will ride on the same platform as the rest of the A3 lineup, the MQB, which was also used on the Seat Leon, Skoda Octavia or new VW Golf. The Audi A3 Cabrio will get a premium interior which will be almost as spacious as the one found on the A4. As for the engine lineup, this is believed to get the 2.0 liter turbo diesel unit, with its 140 HP, while the S3 Quattro Cabrio should get 300 HP from the 2.0 liter unit. There will also be an RS3 Quattro Cabrio version, which will use a 2.5 liter turbocharged straight five-cylinder unit, producing approximately 400 HP.
