Audi has pulled the wraps off the 2013 A3 Sportback ahead of the model’s official debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The German based automaker Audi says that the new generation of the A3 Sportback is 4,310 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,425 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,636 mm long, 58 mm more than the outgoing model. Audi has worked on the design of the new A3 Sportback generation and the model is being offered with a choice of 13 colors, two pearl-effect finishes, eight metallic finishes and three solid finishes.
The new Audi A3 Sportback generation is 90 kg (198 lb) lighter than the outgoing model and, when equipped with the 1.4 TFSI engine, the model weighs just 1,205 kg (2,656 lb). the luggage compartment is offering 380 liters (13.42 cu ft) of space in basic configuration and the capacity can expand to 1,220 liters (43.08 cu ft) with the rear seats folded down. The opening between the wheel wells measures 100 cm (39.37 in) and the cargo floor is flat.
The 2013 Audi A3 Sportback is offered at first with one TDI And two TFSI engines, but later on more units will become available. Audi says that a 1.6 TDI diesel will be offered on the new A3 SPortback, along with a 2.0 TDI with 320 Nm, a more powerful version of the 2.0 TDI with 184 HP and 380 Nm of torque, a 1.2 TFSI with 105 HP and 175 Nm of torque, a 1.4 TFSI with 122 HP And 200 Nm of torque, a more powerful version of the 1.4 TFSI with 140 HP and 250 Nm and a 1.8 TFSI with 180 HP and 250 Nm. All units will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission in standard or to the optional S Tronic.
