The German based automaker Audi is planning to launch the new generation of the RS3 in 2014 and the model is expected to get some interesting features.
The new generation of the RS3 will be based on the 2013 Audi A3 which was officially presented to the public earlier this year during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and the model will also ride on the new MQB modular platform made by Volkswagen, just like the new A3, which was actually the very first car to be based on the MQB.
Rumor has it that the next generation of the Audi RS3 will get the 2.5 liter turbocharged engine under its hood with the five cylinders and 340 HP (250 kW) and 450 Nm of torque (332 lb-ft), but it remains unclear for the moment whether the unit will get some extra power. One thing is for sure though, thanks to the use of the MQB platform, the new RS3 will be lighter than its predecessor and this will help improve both the acceleration and the handling.
The new Audi RS3 will also get an aggressive body kit, the Quattro all-wheel drive and high performance braking system. More details on the model will be announced close to its launch, which has been set for early 2014.
