New BMW 1-Series leaked ahead of its Frankfurt debut image

Known as the BMW Performance Studie 1-Series, the Bavarian model was caught by cameras undisguised less than a month before its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 2012 1-Series has new front and rear bumpers and black racing stripes over the top length of the car, so the possibility of being next year’s 1-Series M-Sport Package isn’t out of the question.

According to the photos found on the 1addicts forum, the spied model has the 120d badge, so it’s powered by the 2.0 liter diesel engine, with 184 horsepower at 4.000 rpm and 389 Nm of torque in stock, giving it 7.2 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h sprint and a top speed of 228 km/h (142 mph).

However, appearing to be an M-Sport Package and with its black racing stripes, the engine is most likely boosted, but its exact power isn’t known so we will have to wait until its official presentation at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, which is promising to be one of the most interesting in many years.
