New BMW M3 and M4 get detailed

Fresh details on the new BMW M3 and BMW M4 have been recently announced ahead of the models’ debut scheduled for later on this year.

The German based automaker BMW might try to keep details on the brand new M3 and M4 a secret for the moment, but things don’t always go as planned. According to the guys at the Bimmer Post, the future generation of the BMW M3 and the BMW M4 will use the S55 engine, which is basically a 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder unit, which is producing a total output of 415 HP.

Even if the 415 HP of the new BMW M3 isn’t that much compared to the 414 HP of the outgoing version, rumors are saying that the engine is producing 100 lb-ft of torque more than the V8, thanks to a multi-turbo setup. The brand new BMW M3 will target the curb weight of the old E46 of 3,415 lbs, while the current E90 M3 sedan weighs 3,726 lbs and the M3 Coupe E92 weighs 3,704 lbs.
