The recently unveiled BMW X6 M is apparently as fast as the M3 Coupe on the famous Nurburgring.
BMW’s popular SAV / crossover or whatever you may like to call it, the X6, has just received a high performance version, in the shape of the X6 M. But if you were thinking that this is nothing else but the regular X6 with a larger petrol burner under its hood and a stiffened suspension system, you may want to reconsider your position on it. According to the BMW M project manager, Herbert Bayerl, the performance SAV is as fast as the M3 Coupe (E92) on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
The company’s official didn’t provide the actual time of the new BMW X6 M but we do know that the M3 Coupe, in its previous generation, could do it in just 8 minutes and 5 seconds. This basically means that the 2015 X6 M is 20 seconds faster than its predecessor. As a small reminder, the brand new X6 M has a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, which is capable of producing 567 HP (423 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, sending power to the xDrive AWD system. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is made in just 4.2 secodns and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
