The North American based automaker Chevrolet is planning to develop an even more powerful version of the brand new Corvette Stingray, which will be named the ZR1.
With the new generation of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray being officially unveiled a month ago, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, and with the convertible version being announced for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month, time has come for Chevy to prepare yet another variant of the sports car. We’re are talking about the new Corvette Stingray ZR1, which is expected to gain an impressive output.
Rumors are saying that the new ZR1 will get a supercharged version of the brand new 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine, but the power will increase up to 675 BHP (503 kW) and even 700 BHP (522 kW). This is a significant increase compared to the standard 450 HP (336 kW) and 450 lb-ft of torque (609 Nm) found on the brand new Corvette Stingray in its standard version. Additional details on the Corvette Stingray ZR1 are limited for the moment and will probably be announced over the following months, once the model will finally be unveiled.
