Shelby Super Cars has recently released more details on the impressive Tuatara, which should hit the production line quite soon.
The SSC Tuatara is one of the most powerful supercars which will hit the market and the model has a single target, to surpass the Bugatti Veyron in terms of top speed. But while testing numerous prototypes of the Tuatara, SSC still finds the time to announce more details on the impressive supercar. According to the North American based company, the SSC Tuatara will be powered by a 7.0 liter V8 engine, which has been produced in collaboration with NRE (Nelson Racing Engines).
The unit is producing a total output of 1,350 HP, but NRE is well known for making engines in excess of 1,500 HP. The SSC Tuatara, in its final production version, will weigh just 2,750 pounds and it’s expected to be able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 276 mph. The final production version of the SSC Tuatara will enter production by the end of the year and its first deliveries will begin in December. More details on it will be announced close to its official launch.
