The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced the production start of the new Fiesta ST in Cologne, Germany.
According to the car manufacturer, the Ford Fiesta ST is now being assembled in Cologne, Germany, at the company’s facility which has employed 4,000 people. Ford says that the Fiesta ST is being assembled on the same line as the regular version of the popular hatchback, which leaves the factory in both left-hand drive and right-hand drive.
As a quick reminder, the new Ford Fiesta is already available for order in several markets. The model is getting a DAB Radio, cloth Recaro seats, front fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and more. The new Ford Fiesta ST is available in two body styles, with three or five doors. Power to the model is provided by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which is producing a total output of 180 HP (132 kW) and it has a peak torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft). The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is allowing the hot hatch to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
